Green Don’t pay the bills

After setting up and creating many green avenues for businesses and methodologies for the same to SAVE money… well they saved it alright… they didn’t hire me. Thus I have closed my business and am personally broke. My life seems impossible to most, well, all really if you’re human. Can I tell you about how it has changed since January of 2010? I will since this is after all my BLOG! January 2010 Day after the business closed [12-31-2009] Wake up to find more bills than ever before and wonder why they stopped the paperless mode? Email is easier to confirm delivery and costs a lot less. Carbon foot prints are off the charts here in the USA, all companies are offering paperless modes of billing and direct deposit options, until you miss a payment, or lose all income and cannot make any payments, then they only want to deal with you via mail and phone calls, Ok off the soap box. February – Filed for Bankruptcy, this is yet another area the government has created a kick back sector. Let me explain, to file for a bankruptcy you need to see a Lawyer to do it right the first time [Money spent], then they inform you of the Law change of 200x and now you need counseling [isn't that why I went to the Lawyer?] well this is only done by a handful of companies in the USA, which charge 45 – 75 a person [double for a couple] they get 12-20 individuals or couples online to go over everything the Lawyer did and then send you a certificate of completion. Then after filing you have to go to a POST filing counselling session! Another 15 – 75 per person, which is the same info only much more vague as Crown ministries or I was Broke, Now I’m Not! Ministries goes over for FREE!!! I went into the wrong business. March – Still getting complaints about non-Payments – STILL NO INCOME! We decide it will be better to move after all and start looking for a house to rent. Friends from Church say he has one but is not sure we want it, Mold & 60′s decor are the main issues. We look and say sure we can do this! 6 weeks of rehab later [10 full days just for mold removal] and the house is completed, we move in. Now let me say this, no house hold income, God providing everything, literally checks arriving in the mail and by friends from other we do not know and all utilities are paid for each month. To paint the house my in-laws bought the paint and supplies - all 50 gallons for the inside! The old house of MY choice was a mere 2400 sq ft under heat, Gods new house for us is somewhere north of 6000 sq ft under heat for 200 a month less. God is so Great! Thank you again. April – We move and by the end of the month we are completed. Did I mention the indoor hot tub? yeah it has one of those too, and it works.

Were was I, I have plans for an opportunity to bring a business into full compliance and make money on going GREEN. I want to help while no one wants to pay, any ideas on how to change this? I have not been able to test the proto type of the electric engine yet. it is sitting in the garage waiting. I think I will work on this and get it finished.

We are truly blessed by God and rely on Him for everything. I know He is here to prosper us and not defeat us.

Green Offices

Can someone tell me why in EVERY paperless office they still buy Paper? What I have found out is they print items and then shred them. People are so used to reading things on Paper they do not know how to read them on a monitor, unless it is in the Blog or email formats. Ever think about that? Watch your office staff and see how many of them print a document to proof read it or just to get a “Better Understanding” of the document. These are some of the many excuses I am running into on converting companies to green paperless companies. If you need to print a document just to understand or reference as a whole you should rethink the process and determine and more friendly approach.

eJunk & eCycleing – The woes of going green!

Ever wonder why people say the a computer is “Too old”? What is meantby the End of Life of a PC? to tell the truth not much more than it is too old to run a current application. The PC still works and run the old stuff just fine [i.e. the 386 Dos 3.1 I used to have setup for the kids to play on] yet it gets put in the recycle bin or worse yet the landfill. I want to let you all know that I have a way to eCycle and I am trying to clean up my area before we get to far in the hole on eJunk. Simple Tech will accept all of your items just let me know what ya got – and I’ll let ya know where to drop it off.

Offices are notoriously NOT green – you can fill a forest with all of the paper in most small business’ let alone just one of the larger companies. But I have a system where we can go paperless and the paper you already have we can recycle! If this is something your company would like to get involved with contact me! We can add volumes of Carbon Credits back to your company. We also create this without adding to the Toxic waste typically created when going green.

Do you realize the more we use technology the more toxins we release? Yeah, going “GREEN” is not really all that healthy. Those light bulbs which last longer and use a whole lot less energy? Yeah they contain Mercury, a deadly heavy metal poison [not the band]. Please make sure you call a Hazardous Material Haz-Mat team if one breaks in your home, I am so not joking. The Haz-Mat team will remove the carpet and then clean the sub-floor, walls, and any-other contaminated areas, including the air vents, duct work, filters [most filters are discarded, even if cleanable] and all of this will be on your dime, around $ 4,000.

Oh yeah I should probable mention if they can ID the trash one of these bulbs is in at a land fill – you could do jail time and pay for the clean up of the landfill.

Well for a geek I seem to be way behind the times. I need to share with people my story and the information I carry around all the time. Future post will be more informational and funny. I meet the neatest people in my job!

Jerrold [that's me] goes to town!

Born in a subburb of Chicago, I find the “BIG CITY” fasinating. My family moved to Florida in the late 70′s and I was cooking in that heat for 28 years. I finally moved back to the “BIG CITY” – Galax, VA. Where?!?!? is the most asked question and if you look at VA and then go to the left side of the map you can find it there. It is the most quintasuntial big cityof “OLD TIME” Americana anyone can find. Things are slower here, people are genuine and freindly. We have some great festivals and the one coming soon is the LORD’s Acre. Churchs and farmers all come to town to sell canned and jared food items from the harvest. Sharing like the Bible says, teaching others to fish not just giving a hand out. The ecconomy here is bad many closed factories and people out of work, yet our SBA office has helped more people fund new small business than anyother in all of VA. to date they have raised 24 million for new business, 7 just this year. I love this “BIG CITY”, Chicago might be “My kind of town” but it doesn’t have the same soul as Galax.
